The natural products of both eremofortin C (EC) and PR toxin are secondary metabolites of Penicillium roqueforti. Because the chemical structures of EC and PR toxin are closely related to each other and differ only by a hydroxyl functional group in EC and an aldehyde functional group in PR toxin at the C-12 position, the chemical transformation of EC into PR toxin was investigated. Oxidation wi...

An efficient one-pot chemical synthesis of snake venom toxin Mambalgin-1 was achieved using an azide-switch strategy combined with hydrazide-based native chemical ligation. Synthetic Mambalgin-1 exhibited a well-defined structure after sequential folding in vitro. NMR spectroscopy revealed a three-finger toxin family structure, and the synthetic toxin inhibited human acid-sensing ion channel 1a.

In an effort to capture meaningful biological, chemical and mechanistic information about clinically relevant, commonly encountered or important toxins, we have developed the Toxin and Toxin-Target Database (T3DB). The T3DB is a unique bioinformatics resource that compiles comprehensive information about common or ubiquitous toxins and their toxin-targets into a single electronic repository. Th...

Abstract Trichothecenes are among the most important fusariotoxins. According to their chemical structure, they divided into 4 groups (A – D). In terms of agriculture, trichothecenes A and B greatest importance. this study, incidence (deoxynivalenol T-2 toxin) in mixed feed for broilers turkeys were determined. Deoxynivalenol was detected all analysed samples mixture (100 %) at an average conce...

Cholera toxin was labeled with tritium by the Wilzbach technique, and highly purified radiolabeled toxin was obtained by Sephadex column chromatography and disc gel electrophoresis. 3H-labeled cholera toxin retained its biological activity and chemical stability and had a specific activity of 405.9 muCi/mumol. The methods utilized in extraction and purification of 3H-labeled toxin may be advant...
